Biocidal products are commercial products intended to kill or inhibit undesirable organisms. Biocidal products are for example disinfectants, wood preservatives, in-can preservatives, products to control rats, insecticides, antifouling paints for ships, embalming liquids, etc.
During the course you will be introduced to the different types of biocides and how they are to be approved according to the EU Biocidal Products Directive. You will learn about the data requirements and the different ways to fulfil them. The data mainly focus on human toxicology, ecotoxicology, efficacy and the identity of the biocidal active substance.
