Industrial products and technology

Enhanced productivity requires optimisation of production processes and improved management tools. This again requires a better understanding of the various mechanisms. A cleaner production with focus on improved and safe productivity may be achieved by utilising this knowledge.

By developing solutions, tools and technology, which can support sustainable industrial development, environmentally friendly solutions may be promoted. Core competences include development and testing of new waste treatment technologies, water reuse, reuse and depositing of residuals and by-products, management of chemicals and a wide range of laboratory services. The goal is to achieve economic growth
and enhanced production with less impact on the environment and health and to ensure chemical compliance. REACH is changing the way chemicals are handled and documented in Europe. Today the entire supply chain must be able to document that products can be handled at low environmental and health risk. The future Global Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) from the UN will set new guidelines for the labelling of chemicals supporting the intention of REACH to protect both people and the environment. Likewise, the implementation of the Water Framework Directive has focused
attention on the environment – not least the fate of wastewater.
