Environmental Impact Assessment, EIA, is mandatory for most projects likely to influence our environment
Experiences world wide have clearly shown that one of the crucial steps in an EIA is the scoping, i.e. the identification of components or parameters likely to be influenced by project implementation. DHI has established its own scooping tools for dividing the likely impacts into four main groups: Physical-Chemical, Biological-Ecological, Social-Cultural and Economical-Operational.
DHI has performed EIA's for decades on a number of different types of projects ranging from large marine constructions to restoration and conservation projects in the semi-terrestrial environment. In recent years DHI has also performed Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEA) on for example legislation concerning environment.
